Meet Blake
I am a licensed CPA and currently a Manager on the People/Talent Team of a Big 4 Public accounting firm in Raleigh, NC. I graduated with a BSBA and MAC degree from UNC - Chapel Hill, and joined a Big 4 Public accounting firm in September of 2017. I was in Federal Tax for 5 years, was promoted to Manager, and then pivoted to our Tax Transformation and Technology Team for one year. In August of 2023, I transitioned to the People Team as a Deployment Consultant. I live with my wife of five years, Emily, and our two labradoodles, Kare and Taz, outside of Raleigh. Fun Fact: I’m a big fan of Lidl, I’m even in their TV commercial!
My CPA exam journey started in the third quarter of my MAC year once I had enough credit hours to sit for the exam. I took BEC in the third quarter, REG in the fourth quarter, and passed them both on the first try. After graduating in May, I studied for FAR for two months and passed it, then finished with Audit and another passing score.
During my time in public accounting I have found and grown a passion for helping people pass the CPA exam because I know how difficult a goal it is. Passing all four sections and earning your license is one of the most significant achievements in many people’s entire careers. It is also an accomplishment that takes an incredible amount of time and commitment. But I truly believe that with the right habits, the right mindset, and the right skills anyone is capable of passing the exam and becoming a CPA.
I have taken my personal experience, countless conversations and interactions with accountants at all levels in their careers, and endless hours of self study around accounting and life skills, and combined them into a course designed to teach the habits, mindset, and skills that support anyone passing the CPA exam. If you learn and implement the ideas in the course then passing becomes “when” not “if.”
For aspiring CPAs who want additional support, I offer group coaching that meets once a month to learn and work together, keep each other accountable, and participate in group sessions led by me.
For even more personalized coaching, I offer a one-on-one coaching program where you and I will meet every other week to focus on your unique and specific obstacles with the exams.
I also work with accounting firms, MAC programs, undergrad classes and accounting clubs/groups in various ways from delivering a keynote on how to pass the exam, running an ongoing coaching program with a group of employees or customer opportunities to fit the specific needs of the clients.

I look forward to working with you!
Many people have a dream of becoming a licensed CPA. Dreams can be inspiring, but without a plan they will not amount to much. Plans are the detailed, actionable steps that bridge the gap between your dreams and reality.
